Your money is protected

Earth Trip is a member of the Travel Trust Association (TTA), membership number Q059X. The TTA has protected customers of its members for more than 30 years. The protection that applies depends on the type of booking, and your booking documents will confirm what covers your holiday. You can check our membership on the TTA’s Verify a Member page.

Holidays without flights

When you book a package holiday without flights, or a single service such as accommodation only, we pay your money into a dedicated Trust Account. An independent trustee (a banker, accountant or solicitor) supervises the account, and both we and the trustee must authorise every payment out of it.

Your money is only released in limited circumstances: to pay the hotels, guides and other suppliers of your holiday, when your holiday is completed, or if you cancel. This means that if Earth Trip ever stopped trading, your suppliers would either already have been paid, or the money would still be in the Trust Account to pay them or to refund you.

Extra protection against fraud

The TTA also protects you if your suppliers are not paid because of fraud or dishonesty by a TTA member or the trustee, up to £11,000 per booking. When you book, you will receive a guarantee certificate showing who is protected.

If a TTA member stops trading

The TTA will contact your suppliers so that your holiday can go ahead as planned. If that isn’t possible, it will arrange a refund of the money you paid. Contact the TTA before booking a replacement holiday, and keep your booking confirmation, invoices and proof of payment.

If you have a complaint

Please contact us first, and we will always try to put things right. If we can’t resolve your complaint, the TTA can act as an independent intermediary and offer an arbitration service. See the TTA’s consumer protection page for details.

Financial protection is not travel insurance

Financial protection covers you if a travel company fails. Travel insurance covers other things, such as illness, cancellation or lost luggage. Comprehensive travel insurance is required for every Earth Trip holiday, so please arrange it when you book.
