Earth Trip is a member of the Travel Trust Association (TTA), membership number Q059X. TTA protection depends on the type of booking and the applicable terms. Your booking documents will explain which protections apply to your arrangements.

How TTA protection works

The TTA describes different protection arrangements for package holidays and single travel services. For relevant bookings, customer payments are held in a designated trust account, supervised by an independent trustee, and released only in specified circumstances. For a package holiday that includes flights, the TTA says the booking will be ATOL protected; your ATOL Certificate sets out what is covered. For a package holiday without flights, and for single travel services, the TTA describes protection through its trust-account arrangements.thetravelnetworkgroup

The TTA also describes an additional guarantee against certain losses caused by fraud or dishonesty, up to £11,000 per booking. This is not a general £11,000-per-passenger guarantee for every financial problem. The TTA says customers receive a guarantee certificate with details of who is protected. If a TTA member ceases trading

If a TTA member enters an “Event of Default,” the TTA says it will liaise with suppliers to try to ensure the holiday goes ahead. If this is not possible, it will administer a claim for a refund under the applicable arrangements. The TTA advises customers to contact it before booking a replacement holiday and to keep their booking and payment records.thetravelnetworkgroup

Travel insurance

Financial protection against a travel company’s failure is different from travel insurance. Travel insurance can cover other risks, depending on the policy. We require customers to hold suitable travel insurance for their trip; please check your booking terms and policy wording, and arrange cover as early as appropriate.
