The Eye in Sky, Zhangjiajie
It’s not as well-known as neighbouring Heaven’s Gate, but Qixing or Seven Peak Mountain is just as beautiful, higher still and far less visited. Come to marvel at the vertiginous views from the Eye in the Sky, a diaphanous circular platform which sits suspended over a plunging canyon. Walk the glass pathway which literally clings to a cliff face so high you can see hawks and swifts swooping below your feet. And ride down from the highest peak on rollercoaster-fast train which rushes and rumbles through the forest in dizzying swerves.
