Camp Abdelmoula

Camp Abdelmoula sits on the edge of the Sahara near Douz, offering a quiet desert experience surrounded by dunes and open sky. Its tents and simple lodges are arranged around peaceful outdoor spaces where evenings unfold by the fire and mornings begin with soft desert light. It’s a relaxed base for travellers seeking stillness, sand, and wide horizons.

Earth Trip opinion

This camp felt out of this world. You are truly in the middle of nowhere and it is great. The sky was the best part of the experience for me; from the sunset to the sunrise and the stargazing in between. The location is just perfect. The tents are very well set up, with plenty of blankets for the cooler desert nights. The food here is also delicious. Despite being in the middle of the desert, the food standard remains high.

It’s amazing to see how in such a remote deserted area this camp still manages to find a way to farm locally grown produce. Against all odds they have formed an extensive farm, with potatoes, peppers, onions etc with the aim to reduce difficult food deliveries. You’ll also find a few palm trees and rose bushes around the camp, definitely something unexpected.

The whole experience was just sensational. I’ve never stayed in such a magical place!
