Day 1: Tunis

Arrive at Tunis Carthage Airport and meet your guide and driver. Transfer to Dar El Medina, a restored traditional house in the heart of the Tunis medina.

Day 2: Tunis – Carthage – Sidi Bou Said

Medinas, Ruins & Mediterranean Blues

Explore the Tunis Central Market before wandering the UNESCO‑listed medina. Join a hands‑on Tunisian cooking class using fresh local ingredients, then continue to Carthage to visit the Punic ports, Byrsa Hill and the Antonine Baths. Finish the day with a walk through the blue‑and‑white streets of Sidi Bou Said.

Day 3: Tunis – Ain Draham

From Phoenician Stones to Sejnane Clay

Travel north to Utique, one of the oldest Phoenician settlements in North Africa. Continue to Bizerte to explore its medina and harbour atmosphere. In Sejnane, join a pottery workshop led by lovely local women artisans using ancestral techniques, a craft recognised by UNESCO. Finish in Tabarka, known for forests, rocky coastline and birdlife, before heading into the mountains of Aïn Draham.

Gen’s highlights: Pottery with the local women of Sejnane is a must. It’s a fascinating experience and you learn so much from the ladies who run it; from the collection of clay in the mountains, to kneading out the impurities, from moulding to firing using natural materials, they really do put a lot of care and consideration into their art. I made my own turtle to take home with me (with a lot of help from the women).

Day 4: Ain Draham

Artisans of the Mountains & Kroumirie Hikes

Spend the day in the Kroumirie Mountains, beginning with a hands‑on carpet‑weaving workshop led by local artisans who demonstrate traditional patterns and techniques. Continue with a guided hike through cork oak and pine forests, following streams and waterfalls that shape this cool, green landscape. Share a homemade lunch with a local family, enjoying seasonal dishes and learning about daily life in this forested region.

Day 5: Ain Draham – El Kef

Archaeology in the North Highlands

Visit Bulla Regia, known for its extraordinary underground Roman villas and remarkably preserved mosaics. Continue to El Kef to explore its medina, Ottoman‑era monuments and panoramic hilltop views over the surrounding countryside. Join an Oula workshop, gaining insight into traditional food‑preservation methods passed down through generations and central to local culinary heritage.

Day 6: Dougga – Testour – Mjez El Beb – Hammamet

Roman Ruins & Olive Groves

Explore Dougga, a UNESCO World Heritage Roman city with remarkably preserved temples, theatres and public buildings set across a panoramic hillside. Continue to Testour to visit its Andalusian‑influenced Great Mosque, known for its distinctive minaret and geometric motifs. Finish the day at Domaine Ben Ismail with an olive oil tasting and lunch, learning about aromas, production methods and the qualities that define premium Tunisian oils.

Gen’s Suggested Highlight: Enjoy an olive oil tasting and lunch in Mjez El Beb, sampling locally produced oils and learning about traditional pressing methods.

Day 7: Hammamet

Relaxation by the Mediterranean

Enjoy a full day by the Mediterranean in Hammamet, known for its clear waters and long sandy beaches. Spend the morning swimming or relaxing on the shore, then take time to unwind in the warm coastal air. Whether you choose to stroll along the waterfront, rest beneath the shade of the pines, or simply enjoy the laid‑back seaside atmosphere, this day offers a gentle break before your final journey home.
