For a wildlife-focused holiday, the accommodation itself can be part of the safari experience. Many of Kenya’s best camps are positioned within or close to wildlife-rich areas, allowing you to wake up surrounded by the sounds and landscapes of the African bush.

In the Maasai Mara and its surrounding conservancies, we can recommend camps according to whether you prioritise excellent guiding, a private setting, photography, walking or proximity to particular wildlife areas.

Private Conservancy Accommodation

Private conservancies around the Maasai Mara and in regions such as Laikipia offer a different style of safari from staying inside a busy national park or reserve.

Depending on the property and conservancy, activities can include walking safaris, night drives and more flexible wildlife viewing. These areas can also provide a quieter atmosphere, with fewer vehicles around wildlife sightings.

Nairobi Hotels

Nairobi is often the starting or finishing point of a Kenya itinerary. The city has a wide range of accommodation, from historic hotels with a long connection to Kenya’s safari heritage to contemporary properties suited to a short overnight stay.

We choose Nairobi accommodation according to your itinerary, arrival and departure times, and whether you want to spend time exploring the city or simply have a comfortable base before travelling onwards.

Kenya’s Indian Ocean coastline provides the perfect complement to a safari. After several days in the bush, a few nights beside the ocean can provide time to slow down and enjoy a completely different side of the country.

We can arrange accommodation around Diani Beach, Watamu, Mombasa and further north towards Lamu, depending on whether you are looking for a relaxed beach resort, a boutique property, marine activities or a more cultural coastal experience.

One of the great advantages of travelling in Kenya is the ability to combine very different environments within one journey.

You might begin in Nairobi, continue to the Maasai Mara for several days of private safari, travel north to a quieter conservancy and then finish beside the Indian Ocean. Alternatively, a shorter safari in Amboseli or Tsavo can be combined with a relaxing stay on the coast.
