Our Live Stay: The Earth Trip Family Experience at The Bay

We are currently midway through a 3-night stay at The Bay, an Uga Experience, giving our team direct, real-time insight into what makes this luxury Pasikuda hotel so exceptional. Traveling as a family with our two children (aged 7 and 10), we were fortunate enough to be upgraded to the magnificent Bay Suite with its own private swimming pool. Having two spacious bedrooms and a private pool gives us complete privacy and comfort—a room layout we highly recommend for families booking with us. The hotel’s main infinity pool remains a huge highlight for the kids, staying open until 7:00 PM, which allows for perfect late-afternoon swims after exploring the coastline.

Culinary experiences at The Bay are dynamic and constantly changing, as guest reviews consistently highlight. Rather than a static menu, the resort features a new culinary theme every evening—ranging from interactive Grill & BBQ Nights and contemporary Asian/Chinese cuisine to authentic Sri Lankan feasts.

During our stay, we experienced the Sri Lankan theme night, where the kitchen showcase was world-class. We loved the rich dhal curry, the perfectly spiced aubergine curry, and the fresh Gotukola salad alongside crisp snake gourd salads. Live cooking stations made the evening special: a dedicated hopper station serving paper-thin plain hoppers and rich egg hoppers, plus a live kottu station preparing what we can confidently call one of the absolute best kottu dishes in Sri Lanka.

For daytime snacks, the children devoured fresh gourmet burgers and healthy grilled prawns served in banana leaves. Down at the newly built beach bar, we cooled off with fresh king coconuts right by the water. To top off every dinner, the buffet features an unlimited ice cream station that kept our kids thrilled every single evening.
