Best 14-Day Honeymoon Itinerary: Mauritius & Seychelles Islands -tween destination holiday 2026 – 2027

Depart London this evening on your overnight flight to Mauritius, touching down the following morning ready to begin the first of your four island stays.

Land at Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam International Airport, where you’ll be met and transferred north to Grand Baie. Your home for the next four nights is La Maison 20 Degrés Sud, a Relais & Châteaux boutique hotel set behind a solid oak door in a former coconut grove — adults-only, intimate, and built around a private beach and two pools rather than the scale of a resort. Settle in and let the first evening be a quiet one.

A full day with nothing scheduled. The hotel’s complimentary water sports — windsurfing, sea kayaking, a daily snorkelling trip out to the reef — are there if you want them, or the hammocks on the private beach are equally good for doing nothing at all.

This morning, visit the Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam Botanical Garden at Pamplemousses — one of the oldest botanical gardens in the southern hemisphere, best known for its giant Victoria amazonica water lilies and avenues of palms. From here, a hands-on Mauritian cooking session introduces the island’s Creole, Indian and Chinese culinary influences, before you head into Port Louis to wander the covered Central Market, still the best place on the island to see everyday Mauritian life up close.

Today you leave the coast behind for the island’s cooler, higher interior. Stop first in Curepipe, then continue to Grand Bassin (Ganga Talao), a crater lake considered sacred by Mauritius’ Hindu community and one of the most important pilgrimage sites outside India. The Plaine Champagne viewpoint follows, with views stretching down over the Black River Gorges to the south coast.

In Chamarel, see the Seven Coloured Earths — dunes of volcanic soil that have eroded into bands of red, brown and purple — before a tasting at the Rhumerie de Chamarel, where sugarcane grown on the surrounding estate is distilled into rum on site. From here it’s a short drive to Lakaz, your home for the next two nights: a cluster of individually designed suites set into the forested hills above the coast, each with its own private pool.

A guided walk through the Ebony Forest, a private reserve working to restore one of the last remaining pockets of the native ebony woodland that once covered much of Mauritius before deforestation and invasive species reduced it to a fraction of its original size. The trail passes restored native forest and a viewpoint over Chamarel and the west coast — a slower, greener contrast to the previous day’s touring. The rest of the day is yours, back at Lakaz.

Transfer to the airport for your flight to the Seychelles, connecting via Mahé to Praslin, the archipelago’s second-largest island. On arrival, you’re met and transferred to Paradise Sun, set directly on Côte d’Or — three kilometres of white sand tucked beneath granite boulders on Praslin’s north-east coast, and home for the next four nights.

A day to settle into Praslin’s slower pace. Snorkel out from the beach, take one of the hotel’s complimentary sunset cruises, or simply spend the day on Côte d’Or, regularly ranked among the world’s best beaches.

Visit the Vallée de Mai Nature Reserve, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of only two places on earth where the coco de mer palm grows wild. Walking trails wind beneath a canopy of these giant palms, home to the endemic Seychelles black parrot — a striking change of scenery from the beaches either side of it.

One more unhurried day on Praslin before you move on — a good chance to revisit a favourite spot on Côte d’Or, or take a boat trip out to nearby Curieuse or St Pierre.

A morning ferry crossing back to Mahé, the largest and most populated of the Seychelles’ islands. You’re transferred to Carana Beach Hotel, tucked into a quiet cove on Mahé’s northern tip beneath granite boulders and palm trees — your base for the final three nights of the trip.

A guided tour around Mahé, taking in the capital, Victoria — among the smallest capital cities in the world — along with its Hindu temple and colonial-era cathedral. The day continues with a tasting at the Takamaka Bay Rum Distillery in the Val d’Endor valley, where Seychellois rum is distilled using water drawn from the surrounding hills.

A final full day to spend as you like — on Carana’s own beach, at the hotel spa, or exploring a little further around Mahé’s north coast before tomorrow’s departure.

Transfer to Mahé International Airport for your flight home, bringing your fourteen days across Mauritius and the Seychelles to a close.
