Anjajavy Le Lodge

Discover an Extraordinary Peninsula

Anjajavy le lodge is located on the west coast of Madagascar 120 kilometres north of Majunga. Anjajavy is a remote fishing village on an extraordinary peninsula at the heart of the Boeny Sakalava territory.

Anjajavy le lodge is member of Relais & Châteaux and is ideal for the discerning eco-tourist. The lodge along this welcoming peninsula is set on a private stretch of 550 hectares surrounded by water and is a shining example of sustainable conservation.

The hotel is made up of 24 individual rosewood villas, all facing the sea scattered through a garden landscape. All the villas have a large terrace, a living room with a salon and a bathroom with a large corner bath, shower and separate restrooms. A small staircase provides access to the first floor loft room, which can be used as a guest room for up to two additional people. Villas are maintained at an ideal temperature by silent air-conditioning systems.

Anjajavy le lodge offers a fine dining experience with French and Malagasy inspired cuisine. Breakfast offers everything from fresh seasonal fruit, croissants and yoghurts to a full cooked breakfast. The lunch menu offers 3 to 5 choices per course. Dinner is a fine dining three course meal with two choices per course. Beach barbecues are also organised regularly. Dinner in the Oasis and private picnics can also be arranged, especially for honeymooners.

The Oasis is a genuine Garden of Eden. It is the perfect place to relax or unwind after a busy day enjoying some of the various activities on offer at Anjajavy le lodge. Kept at a constant humidity by water sprays, the Oasis offers a refreshing environment in which to escape the heat of the day.

Anjajavy le lodge has plenty to offer on land and in the sea. Within the 750-hectare private natural reserve, there are a wide variety of wonderful walks that you can do on your own with a clear map, or with one of the hotel’s guides. Discover the majestic baobabs and unusual tsingy. There is a wonderful beach perfect for a swim, as well as a 200 metre infinity pool. The Marina, on the Mozambique Channel, protected from the wind, is also a good spot. A wide variety of water based activities are available from the beach in front of the hotel and from the marina.

Earth Trip Opinion

Anjajavy Le Lodge is a breath of fresh air for discerning travellers seeking true isolation and wildlife immersion. It successfully bridges the gap between an exclusive tropical beach hideaway and a world-class conservation reserve. What sets it apart is the “private wilderness” philosophy—having access to untouched marine and terrestrial ecosystems where wildlife roams completely unbothered creates an incomparable sense of wonder. The legendary Baobab Bar, shaded by ancient giant trees right on the beachfront as the sun sets over the Mozambique Channel, is the “jewel in the crown”; watching sifaka lemurs bound across the sand while enjoying a cocktail is an essential Madagascar experience. It is the perfect choice for travellers who appreciate absolute privacy, pristine nature, and uncompromising luxury.
